Eddie Murphy is not a beacon of political rhetoric
Peppering your political rhetoric with the F word does not show you are "authentic." It is lame and cringe.
When Eddie Murphy released "Raw" in the 1980's, he used the F word over 220 times in 90 minutes. (No, I did not count. I googled it.) This was a transgressive stand-up routine in the 80's, following on the heels of Richard Pryor and inspiring others to imitate him. Meanwhile, one of the things that stood out about Bill Cosby's stand-up routine is he was able to be hilarious without using obscenities. If you have good jokes, you do not need to fill your comedy with obscenity.
The same applies to political rhetoric. If you are capable of making a coherent point to connect with voters and convince them you are right, you do not need to use the F word. Having politicians openly curse is not just an indication of the coarsening of the culture, it shows a fundamental lack of seriousness and a lack of intellectual capacity by the speaker.
President Trump is crude and crass, and has naturally been that way for decades before he ever jumped into politics. The reason Trump is seen as "authentic" when he is crude is because that is his natural personality. Over the last few months, reports have surfaced encouraging Democrats to curse more in order to seem more "authentic." Very often, this comes off not as authentic, but as desperate - the political equivalent of the meme with Steve Buscemi carrying a skateboard addressing his "fellow kids." It is not authentic, it is lame and cringe.
But there is another reason why Democrats should back away from cursing to show they are "authentic." Trump is the President of these United States. Whether or not you respect the man holding the office, you should respect the office itself. Using the F word to refer to the President shows disrespect for the office, disrespect for the rule of law, and disrespect for your fellow citizens. When elected officials do that, it shows disrespect for their own office and authority.
Unfortunately, many Republicans have little room to condemn this behavior, with the people defending using the F word to refer to President Biden, or replacing the F bomb with the cutesy "Let's Go Brandon" meme that means the same thing. Conservatives cannot credibly argue for respecting the office of the President while defending disrespect for the previous President. We need to think ahead a few years, rather than living in the moment.
Not only are previous generations of Americans and political leaders looking down on us, people around the world are laughing at us and losing respect for us. All of this needs to stop, especially the artificial and cynical use of the F word to show you are "authentic." Far from being the shining city on a hill envisioned by President Reagan, we have become a clown show. We all need to grow up, and that starts with our political leaders setting a good example.
