Poverty is wealth. War is peace. Creating life is selfish.
Having children is an investment in the future of civilization.
At a time when most conservatives and some liberals recognize that we are facing a demographic time bomb caused by declining fertility, we still have anti-natalist propaganda telling us that having children is selfish. It harms the environment, creates more waste, uses more fossil fuels, blah blah blah. Pass the bong.
What is amusing is that many of the same people who wail at J.D. Vance's criticisms of "childless cat ladies" are using the same criticisms to say that, ackchyually, people who have children are the selfish ones. Clearly, there is very little sincerity in scolding Vance and others about being "judgmental" of people's personal life choices. It is not whether lifestyle choices should be criticized, but which lifestyle choices should be criticized. Those who condemn others for being "judgmental" are always hypocrites.
Here is the truth: There is nothing more selfless than having a child. Women go through pregnancy and the pain and bloodshed of childbirth to bring a new life into the world. Men have to worry about providing for that child, in addition to caring for, teaching, and training him. No one who has stumbled into work bleary-eyed and exhausted on three hours of sleep because the baby will not stop crying and go to sleep unless he is being held will tell you that was an act of selfishness.
When God told man to "be fruitful and multiply" in Genesis 1:28, that was before the fall happened. That is a creation ordinance that applies universally. Having children is an investment in the future of civilization, but this goes far beyond whatever economic and cultural contributions that child makes when he becomes a teenager and an adult. God has seen fit to grow His church not just through converting unbelievers, but by Christians having children and then raising them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4.)
Do not believe the lies and propaganda of the hypocritical elites. Having children is a gift and is rewarding in many ways you will not realize until later. Children produce the fruit of sanctification in their parents in ways that you will never expect. Having fewer babies is not, has never been and will never be the solution to society's problems. It is and has always been the opposite.
