Weird Walz denies science to spread Leftist religious myths
Republicans must be focused and disciplined in attacking Walz, because attacking solution-focused technocratic governance will backfire.
Some Republicans (especially those who are Very Online) have taken to calling Governor Tim Walz "Tampon Tim" for signing legislation to put feminine hygiene products in public school bathrooms. This is a dumb strategy, which would be more effective if it were employed in a focused and disciplined way.
Having schools provide feminine hygiene products to female students is a perfectly reasonable idea. This is good, solid, solution-focused technocratic governance that sits alongside having band-aids and acetaminophen in the school nurse's office. If there is a problem with the mandate, it would be whether the legislation actually provided funding for the products, or whether it was an unfunded mandate putting a financial burden on schools without helping pay for it.
Politically, this is not something that is going to play with voters of either sex, whether single or married. Mothers and fathers would want their daughters to have access to necessary medical supplies, and even single men have nieces, sisters, cousins or friends who would benefit from this program in high schools. The majority of married men, married women and single men all vote Republican, but attacking Walz on this issue in an unfocused and undisciplined way could cut into those margins in addition to widening the Democrats' huge advantage with single women.
The problem with Tim Walz is that he took something that could have been solution-focused technocratic governance and decided to play to the extreme Left. Putting feminine hygiene products in boys' restrooms is anti-science, anti-education radically Leftist propaganda that plays into the religious myth that people can magically become the opposite sex. Trans women are men, and trans men are women. Playing to this cult by putting feminine hygiene products in boys' restrooms is not public health. That is just plain weird.
