A few thoughts on Hebrews 9

The Tabernacle and the Temple were imperfect and only a shadow of things to come. The Jews were very proud of their sacrifices and their rituals, but only the blood of Jesus Christ can offer eternal salvation.

So what are the sacrifices and rituals we have today that we trust in rather than pleading the blood of Christ? Is it the method of educating our children? The form of discipline we use? Our preferred Bible translation? The political standards we hold when voting? The type of music we listen to? The kind of diet we eat?

The temptations we face now are the same as the temptations they faced then. Only the details have changed. We only have one plea before God: The shed blood of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
