About 10 or 12 years ago, Tera the #Beagle escaped from the fence while we were visiting family. We found her after looking for about an hour, but she had found some children who were petting her.
Tera LOVED children, so she refused to go back with us. If she was able to speak, I imagine she would have said "No, I live here now. You aren't my family any more."
I had to physically pick her up and carry her back to the car.
