Conservatives used to believe in elevating people on merit. That means actual accomplishments. Not any more. Someone becomes a YouTube celebrity or says a couple "lit" things on Twitter and we want to elevate him or her to the top of the movement.
No concern with whether someone has actually paid his/her dues, we just like that they "fight" and make the Left angry. This obsession with celebrity is anti-conservative and will be the death of the conservative movement.
