Christians stand for the voiceless in Bloomington
Abortion is a spiritual battle more than a political battle, and we have the omnipotent Creator on our side.
The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 6 that our struggle as Christians is not against flesh and blood, but "against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Nowhere is that more true than with our battle against abortion. Satan hates life, and enemies of God throughout history have gloried in the slaughter of innocents. (See the genocide committed by the "atheist" Soviet Empire.) Child sacrifice has transformed from a garish public offering to the demon Molech into a "civil right" that is necessary for women to attain "equality."
But as Ashley St. Clair pointed out, "nearly three-quarters (73.8%) of women with a history of abortion surveyed admitted that they experienced at least subtle forms of pressure to terminate their pregnancies." Abortion "rights" has always been a form of misogyny, as well as a way for effeminate men to escape responsibility for the life they created. This is why some of the most angry reactions we get at the Rally for Life and the Life Chain are from men fearful of taking responsibility.
Christian Citizens for Life held the Rally for Life on Sunday, with a great turnout from churches all over Monroe County. Representatives from the Young Americans for Freedom and Students for Life chapters at Indiana University also attended. As in past years, we marched from the courthouse, to Second Street and past Planned Parenthood's abortion mill. You can see the program on the CCFL YouTube page.
It is possible that protections for "abortion rights" that the Supreme Court fabricated in 1973 will be eroded in the coming weeks, but even if the decision is thrown back to the states, it will not end abortion. Even states that severely restrict surgical abortions will be hard-pressed to restrict chemical abortions, especially since the drugs used to kill babies can be delivered through the mail. Some states have pledged to be abortion "sanctuaries," arranging for women to travel for abortions.
This can be dispiriting, but it is not. Again, our battle is not political or cultural, it is spiritual. We have the omnipotent Creator of the Universe on our side. Our most powerful weapon is prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ, who told is in Matthew 28:18 that He has all authority in Heaven and on Earth. Only God can remove this wickedness from our land, and we should have faith that He will do so.
