Forgiveness for abortion
God forgave wicked King Manasseh, who burned his own children to death to sacrifice them to demons.
The account of King Manasseh is arguably the most encouraging and uplifting account in all of Scripture, and gives us all hope in the infinite grace and mercy of God. No matter what we have done, the blood of Jesus Christ is sufficient payment for our sins. Manasseh was the King of Judah, and he led the nation into extreme wickedness. Manasseh burned his own children to death to sacrifice them to demons. God judged him for it, and he cried out to God for forgiveness. He was restored as king of Judah and has the honor of being in the line of Jesus Christ.
A couple weeks ago, a millionaire YouTube celebrity announced he and his wife had decided to murder their unborn baby because the baby was found to have Down Syndrome. Around 70% of babies with Down Syndrome are murdered in these United States. In other nations, it is worse. Nearly 100% of these babies are murdered in Iceland. The United Kingdom has an abortion rate of 90% for Down Syndrome babies, as does Germany.
When the millionaires announced this, they were flooded with scorn, and they were surprised at how intense the reaction was to their announcement. This is because people were rightly horrified, especially since they were acting as if this is something that happened to them. Obviously, sending death threats is morally depraved. People can disagree, or even have well-placed moral outrage, without being filled with hate and resorting to threats of violence.
But God can and does forgive those who murder their own children. No matter how wicked the sins we have committed, we can be fully reconciled to God through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Scripture tells us in 1 John 1:9 that "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
We also need to have some self-awareness. While many are called to be prophetic against the wickedness of this world, we must not forget that we also deserve eternal damnation in Hell Fire. There is none righteous, not even one. That is why this is an opportunity for evangelism, to call those who have committed the most heinous sins to repent and believe. After all, if God can forgive someone like Scott Tibbs, He can forgive anyone.
