I am too busy having compassion for victims
President Donald Trump, who campaigned as a "law and order" candidate, has angered people by keeping his promise to be tough on crime. And as usual, the news media tries to get sympathy for people who commit horrendous crimes while not actually mentioning what those people did.
One criminal about to be executed strangled a pregnant woman to death, ripped her open and tore the living fetus out of her body. Another one kidnapped, raped and doused a 16-year-old girl with gasoline and then buried her alive. Another one carjacked, robbed and murdered an elderly couple on their way home from church. Another one robbed, raped and murdered a nurse, after having been in prison for assault, burglary and child molestation. Another one kidnapped, raped and strangled a 10-year-old girl to death. Another brutally abused and sexually molested his 2-year-old daughter for years, and eventually beat her to death.
I am asked to have sympathy for these people. I simply do not have enough hours in the day to do that. I am far too busy having sympathy for the victims of their horrible crimes, for which these criminals were justly sentenced to death. The people who commit these horrible crimes have, by their own free will and conscious choices, permanently vacated any claim to sympathy and compassion. They have, however, justly earned their own death. Donald Trump is absolutely doing the right thing in rushing through these executions before thug-hugger Joe Biden takes office and has "mercy" on them. The victims, of course, got no mercy.
Of course, here's the big problem with some of the cases: Murders should be prosecuted and punished by the states, not by the federal government. The federal government's involvement in fighting crime should be limited to very few cases, such as terrorism and treason. The rest should be handled by the states, and the states should be executing these people instead of the federal government. But these monsters have been convicted under our laws as they exist now, and they deserve to be exterminated.
