It's OK to be a Jew, Part II
Christians need to stand against the utterly wicked ethnic hatred of Jews.
A member of the praise band in my church (arguably the most theologically conservative church in Monroe County) is a Jew. Another man who had been a deacon for many years was a Jew. Neither of them (who embraced their Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ) would agree with the notion that "Pride is a Jewish value." Neither would a number of Orthodox Jews who hold to the Old Testament's prohibition of homosexuality. Yet the usual idiots on X ran to the replies to post anti-Semitic screeds and memes, and even praise of Adolf Hitler.
Anti-Semitism takes many forms, but the most common is the belief in an overarching conspiracy where anything bad is ultimately connected to THE JOOOOOOOOOOOOOS. A corollary to that is that every single Jew is exactly the same, and they all hold the same position on every issue. There are about 7 million Jews in the United States. It is utterly absurd to assume that every Jew agrees on every topic, especially when there are prominent Jews on opposing sides of a number of issues. If a Jewish organization ignores the Torah and endorses homosexuality, then all Jews are to blame.
No one says this about any other race or ethnic group. When President Obama was running in 2008, his mobilization of Black voters in California was likely one of the biggest reasons Proposition 8 passed, as an overwhelming majority of Black voters supported the constitutional amendment to prohibit the state from recognizing same-sex marriage. This was despite the Democratic Party moving ever closer to endorsing it. A number of polls show a majority of Black voters oppose "defunding the police," with liberal college-educated Whites taking up that banner.
One of the more idiotic memes was comparing Hitler signing a document with an outlandishly dressed drag queen reading to children, condemning people who say Hitler is evil while supporting "drag queen story hour." Of course, this is an absurd comparison. Hitler was evil. Nazi Germany was evil. One need not endorse Nazism in order to oppose drag queens reading to children. This simple-minded "all or nothing" sentiment is how a cult operates.
We have gotten to the point that, sadly, ethnic hatred of Jews has become normalized. This hatred is utterly wicked and a direct attack on God Himself, because He put His image in man. The fact that some of the people spewing this bile claim to be "christians" should be rebuked by every Christian. Churches who discover their members are engaged in this hatred should rebuke, censure and eventually excommunicate "christians" who are unrepentant. We can pray that Jews accept their Messiah and oppose the toxic agenda of Leftist Jews like George Soros without damning an entire ethnic group and vomiting genocidal rhetoric.
