Joe Biden's shameful surrender

To the Editor:

As women are violently raped all across Afghanistan, as war criminals hunt down Afghans who worked with us to torture and murder them and their families, as little girls and even little boys are forced into rape slavery, and as the people who gave safe harbor to the war criminals who destroyed the World Trade Center and massacred 3,000 Americans on American soil parade around in American military equipment, remember that none of this had to happen.

Joe Biden claimed that Afghans would not fight on behalf of their country. But the fact that 66,000 Afghan soldiers and police were killed fighting the Taliban proves that our "president" was lying. The Afghan army had become dependent on American air power, which the "commander in chief" ended despite warnings from military experts.

We are militarily involved in a lot of places where we have no critical national security interest. Our war of choice in Iraq destabilized the region. Afghanistan was a war of self-defense, with minimal American casualties since 2015. There was no pressing need to withdraw.

Biden has brought dishonor to his office and brought shame on every American. He should be impeached and removed from office for this debacle.
