When Bre Payton was 27 years old, she died of influenza. It was a shocking thing to see a young woman die of such a common infection, and radical Leftists immediately started dancing on her grave with sadistic glee, gloating that she “deserved” to die. You see, she had committed “blasphemy” when she was 19 years old by making a joke about vaccines. There is no evidence that she was actually an anti-vaxxer. Even if she was, dancing on her grave and celebrating her death was depraved and perverted.
Let’s not forget that NPR legal correspondent Nina Totenberg said this about Senator Jesse Helms:
I think he ought to be worried about what’s going on in the good Lord’s mind, because if there’s retributive justice, he’ll get AIDS from a transfusion, or one of his grandchildren will get it.
Yes. She wanted the grandchildren of a U.S. Senator to get AIDS.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, radical Leftists squealed with sadistic glee when a prominent conservative died of the disease. They “deserved” to die because they put their “freedumb” over Teh Science, and some of them even spoke ill of The Holy Prophet Fauci, peace be upon him. Obviously, radical Leftists squealed with sadistic glee when a homosexual furry murdered Charlie Kirk, recording themselves doing dances on TikTok and elsewhere celebrating the fact that two small children had their father taken from them. I could cite many more examples, especially the destruction of people’s lives and careers via cancel culture because they dared to take a tiny step away from “woke” theology, even unintentionally.
This is important context because in the closing weeks of the 2026 elections, Democrats and Leftists again pushed the narrative about “cruelty” by President Trump and MAGA. Yes, some of the cruelty from MAGA is indeed depraved and perverted. I have personally experienced hatred from MAGA. But what I am not going to do is allow the Left to gaslight me into thinking that MAGA has some sort of monopoly on cruelty.
The fact that so much of the Left (especially online) has been so vicious and cruel for so long is what led to the rise of President Trump in the first place. “Finally,” many Republicans thought in 2015 and 2016, “we have someone who will fight fire with fire. Not only will he not back down, he will double down. We need a street fighter as our nominee.” President Trump’s combativeness is a key feature of MAGA and why he is so beloved by his most core supporters. This does not excuse vicious cruelty, obviously, but it is simply dishonest to ignore the context of why so much of MAGA is basically a raised middle finger.
It is fully appropriate to condemn needless cruelty, especially directed at people who are collateral damage, such as the case of Timothy Klausutis. But pretending that only one side is cruel is not only a damnable lie, but it is needlessly cruel to the many, many people who have been subjected to cruelty from the Left. Not only will that fail to convince anyone in MAGA to change tactics, this two-faced hypocrisy will cause them to double and triple down on cruelty and also turn the volume up. Nobody likes a bully who cries when his own tactics are turned back on him.
