Mask mandates and misleading COVID-19 statistics
The Herald-Times promotes Fake News on mask mandates
An article in the Herald-Times says that sheriffs in Sullivan, Hamilton, Delaware and Johnson counties said they would not enforce the statewide mask mandate, and immediately follows up by saying that "those four counties represent more than 60,000 COVID-19 cases and 130 deaths." OK then. But according to data from the New York Times, those counties rank 27th, 44th, 48th and 79th our of Indiana's 92 counties.
So, once again, the news media presents misleading data. One would think they were at the top of the list, but they are not. They are in the middle of the pack or close to the bottom.
