Pro-abortion mob disrupts Fourth of July parade
The only "choice" the pro-abortion mob values is its own, which shows their hypocrisy and their own totalitarian worldview.
If you think chanting "f*** you, f*** you, f*** you" over and over is an effective way to make your point when the Republican Party float goes by in the Fourth of July parade, you have a lot to learn about argumentation. You also need to grow up and act like an adult instead of a tantrum-throwing spoiled child.
An "abortion rights" group disrupted the Fourth of July parade, attempting to take it over after the community had waited three long years for a parade to happen after the COVID-19 pandemic shut it down in 2020 and 2021. Not content with allowing people to enjoy the parade, they ignored the application process and decided to storm into the front of the parade to lead it.
I have been marching in the Independence Day parade for 23 years. Parade entries have to pay a small entrance fee and are then assigned a spot where they will wait their turn. Then once we get there, we are in "hurry up and wait" mode as the entries in front of us are sent into the line. The deadline for submitting a parade entry was June 15, and the Dobbs v. Jackson opinion was leaked in May. The fact that the pro-abortion mob decided they would bypass that entire process and jump out in front of the parade shows that they do not respect city staff, other parade entrants who followed the rules or the people watching the parade.
More than that, though, they were vulgar. Their signs were vulgar and their chants were vulgar. This group, which preaches the virtues of "choice," had no respect for the parents and grandparents who did not choose to have small children subjected to their impromptu vulgarity. The only "choice" they value is their own, which shows their hypocrisy and their own totalitarian worldview. Chanting the F word - where any children in the vicinity could clearly hear it - showed a lack of emotional stability and intellectual capacity.
This is not about abortion. This is about basic human decency and respect for others. You do not have to hijack the Fourth of July Parade or engage in vulgarity in order to make your point about abortion rights and the need for women to have access to the procedure. A protest is fine and is expected - this is Bloomington after all - but this kind of behavior ought to be condemned by all reasonable people.
