The inevitable result of ObamaCare
Who do you trust? Do you trust your doctor or do you trust politicians and bureaucrats in Washington?
Politicians and bureaucrats are not doctors, and we do not want them micromanaging our heath care. The best people to manage patient care is a doctor who works directly with the patient, not a U.S. Senator from New York. The reality is that prescription medicine is not the cause of the epidemic of opioid abuse, and punishing people with chronic pain will do nothing to fight illegal drugs.
See here and here and here and here for more.
It is utterly repulsive too see people like Kirsten Gillibrand repeat the mantra of "my body, my choice" regarding the "right" to murder a baby in the womb, but seek to micromanage the health care decisions of chronically ill or terminally ill people. In addition to being hypocritical, it is incredibly arrogant. Authoritarians really do think the world would be better if they could micromanage your life.
Are there "candyman" doctors out there? Yes, there are. That has been well documented with criminal convictions. There are also some doctors who do not monitor their patients closely enough, leading to bad outcomes with prescriptions. These people should be prosecuted or professionally disciplined.
But the real question here is this: Who do you trust? Do you trust your doctor or do you trust politicians and bureaucrats in Washington? Do you really think that people with chronic pain are better protected by a faceless bureaucrat they have never met, instead of the doctor who knows them personally?
A decade ago, Barack Obama telegraphed the horror of ObamaCare when he said an elderly person might be better off taking a pain pill instead of having life-saving surgery. Now, do-gooders and drug warriors want to take away even that option. Authoritarianism is inherently cruel and heartless, because authoritarians think they are better and smarter than you are. Only liberty presents the best option for society.
