The perverted depravity of celebrating death
The American people deserve serious leaders who take their positions seriously and treat the offices they hold with gravity.
President Donald Trump has always been a vindictive, petty man, and he has always been extremely brittle. He becomes enraged at even the mildest criticism or disagreement, and is by far the biggest snowflake in politics. This is what makes him determined to “punch back” much harder than he was hit, and his brittleness will not allow him to allow any slight to go unpunished. We saw this on full display a couple weeks ago when he celebrated the brutal murder of a Hollywood director, suggesting that Rob Reiner deserved to die for making people angry with his “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
What is even worse, though, is that our tax dollars are paying to amplify this perverted depravity. The official White House “rapid response” account on X - maintained by government employees - boosted a screenshot of President Trump’s wicked post on Truth Social. Rob Reiner’s taxes paid to amplify a message celebrating his death and saying he deserved to die.
“Trump Derangement Syndrome” exists among President Trump’s opponents, but it also exists among his followers. As soon as the wicked post hit Truth Social, the President’s fans started pointing to things that Reiner had said. The people justifying this are cultists, defending anything Dear Leader says and does, no matter what it is. They are incapable of admitting he is wrong about anything. This is pure idolatry. If you even attempt to engage in “whataboutism” here, do not bother trying to fantasize that you are “pro-life.”
So let me be clear about Reiner’s words: I do not care. Absolutely nothing Reiner has ever said will ever justify the depraved and perverted behavior of the President of these United States, who is supposed to serve all of the American people, including his political enemies. If you are one of the people justifying this filthy language, you need to grow up. You also need to repent if your own wicked attitude, the hatred in your heart and your wicked idolatry of the President.
If President Trump wanted to make the Reiner murders about himself, he could have done it without being a degenerate pervert. Here is what the President could have said instead:
“Melania and I are deeply saddened by the shocking and brutal murder of director Rob Reiner. The fact that their son, a longtime drug addict, is the prime suspect in the murders proves that our drug policy has failed. We need to be TOUGH on Narco-Terrorists! We have to kill them before they get to this country with their poison, no different than MUSTARD GAS. We will not allow any more lives to be ruined, or any more young men’s minds to be DESTROYED by drug addiction. If you try to bring this poison here, we will KILL YOU!!”

See, was that so hard? In my hypothetical, President Trump was able to insert himself as the main character, throw shade on the villains and his political opponents, and make himself the hero (at least in his own mind) without being a filthy degenerate pervert celebrating the brutal murder of a man and a woman by their own son. He would also be advancing a policy he believes is correct and necessary to protect the American people.
President Trump is who he is, but he is much worse than he would be otherwise because the MAGA base and conservative “thought leaders” enable his wickedness. President Trump has shown he will react to his base, which is why he rarely talks about the COVID-19 vaccine any more. The American people deserve better than this. We deserve serious leaders who take their positions seriously and treat the offices they hold with gravity. This includes “influencers” with a large platform and pundits in conservative media, who owe it to their readers and viewers to be principled instead of hyper-partisan. Repent!
