Printed in the Herald-Times, November 12, 2018. To the Editor: Now that Trey Hollingsworth has been re-elected, we will hear the inevitable whining about "gerrymandering" of the Ninth District. It is impossible for me to take Democrats seriously on this subject, after Democrats in control of the legislature drew a Fourth District that used a sliver of Monroe County to put Lawrence County into the Fourth District in 2001. This took the heavily Republican county away from John Hostettler's district and kept it away from Baron Hill, putting Bedford in the same district as Purdue but not as IU.
