How the "Never Trump" cult drives people to Trump
President Trump's most effective allies have always been the people with Trump Derangement Syndrome.
I have made no secret of my disdain for President Trump as a human being. While there are areas where I support him on policy, his personal character is the reason I refused to vote for him in 2024. His personal vindictiveness and willingness to viciously personally attack his opponents, attack their marriages and celebrate their divorces disqualified him from earning my vote.
And then there are Leftists who seem determined to make me regret that decision and wish I had voted for Trump just to spite them. Specifically, "If you didn't vote for (President Trump) the second time because you learned your lesson after what happened the first time, f*** you."
Before I address the "substance" of this so-called "argument," let me say this: Nobody wants to watch you eat. This is totally undisciplined and unprofessional. Finish your food, clean yourself up, sit up straight like a functioning adult, and then make your video. Perhaps you could actually come up with a compelling theological argument for your religion other than sounding like Eddie Murphy doing a stand-up routine in 1987. Grow up and stop acting like a teenage girl having a meltdown.
Let me be very clear: This is not politics. This is what a cult looks like. This is not political principle. This is religious zeal. There is never any forgiveness in the Cult of Wokeness. According to COW, once you have "sinned," you are stained forever, and you cannot hope to ever be redeemed of your sins and heresy. This is why I am proud to be a heretic and a blasphemer and I will continue to reject your so-called "god."
Contrast this to President Trump appointing lifelong Democrats such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard to serve in his cabinet. One of Trump's harshest critics was J.D. Vance, who now serves as Vice President of the United States. Trump not only allows converts, he enthusiastically endorses them and gives them positions in his administration. That is how he went from earning just under 63 million votes in 2016 to 74 million votes in 2020 to 77 million votes in 2024 in a significantly lower-turnout election than four years earlier.
One could argue that I am "nutpicking." Considering this has 29 thousand likes and five thousand retweets, and considering how many others have expressed the exact same religious zeal, I do not believe this qualifies at "nutpicking." This is a common viewpoint. No, I am not saying every Democrat is part of the COW. Most are not. I am saying many people hold this belief.
This is not how you win elections. This is not even how you get the support of a lot of people on your own side, who would welcome converts to the "Never Trump" cause, or "The Resistance." Observe how often Republicans and conservatives (such as Mitt Romney) get "strange new respect" from the Left and from the legacy news media for attacking people on their own side. When you openly damn converts to your religion, why would anyone ever want to worship your "god?" We have no hope of redemption, so we might as well keep on sinning and blaspheming.
This is truly poisonous to our culture and political system, and it is not getting better. It is getting worse. This is why President Trump's most valuable allies are not his volunteers, voters or donors, but the deranged cultists who damn even those who have changed their mind. Trump Derangement Syndrome harms the ones afflicted with it while helping President Trump.
